My VAFC2 + LC-1 wideband Tuning

Current tuning Setup:
-Innovate LC-1 (wideband)
-VAFC2

Current Performance:
-00vi w/DEK injectors
-Warpspeed y pipe w/wideband bung
-Automatic transmission

Runs are in 2nd gear, starting as close to 3000k and ending in 5100rpms.

Notice the lean spikes in the 3k-4k area. Looks like i took out a bit too much fuel there. (I know RPM isn't shown but the log ranges from 3k-5100rpm, so just estimate) I think i need to move some fuel points in the VAFC2 to the low end and spread out the top. Mid range seems to be more sensitive to the larger injectors and not interpolating between points well enough.

BTW, im not done. I had to get out of there after 8 runs with a snapped b pipe to avoid attention. good tuning practice though.

How much fuel are you removing with the VAFC-II? My AFR is sitting right at 12 all the way across right now.

ill get that for you in a bit, i need to go outside and write it down.

3100 - (-7)
3300 - (-8)
3500 - (-9)
3700 - (-9)
3900 - (-10)
4100 - (-10)
4300 - (-11)
4500 - (-11)
4700 - (-11)
4900 - (-11)
5000 - (-11)
5100 - (-11)

I think those two lean spikes in the beginning are the -9's.

Cool I think the most I've taken away is -5. That was all guessing though. Ive been looking around for a thread like this to give me an idea how much fuel I need to remove but couldnt find one. Good info and keep us updated. Are you planning on dynoing anytime soon?

You're on a 3.5 and 290cc injectors, correct? Would the 3.5 affect AFR compared to my 3.0?

TBH, I dont know if it would be safe to use my fuel corrections. Im assuming you dont have a wideband, did you get your AF from a dyno? Was their wideband stuck in your muffler? (which would give you a leaner read out)

Ill update Thursday when my catback gets put in. I decided to just go ahead with a crimp setup since NA doesn't really gain much from the b pipe. Once thats done, ill tune 3k-6500rpm.

My car is setup like yours 00vi auto. My girls car is the 3.5. Yeah I got my AFR from a dyno. I really do need to get a wideband tune my car.

Get the Lc-1 from abadcamaro or something on ebay. Good authorized dealer.

Mine was like ~160$ with the o2 sensor, computer cable, and the LC-1.

That's subjective.

AJ has a super flat A/F line, it acutally kind of wierd.

Would it be possible to EASILY wire up my Transmission control to let me hold a certain gear? I've remember people making manu-matic boxes that are controlled by the cruis control buttons but that was long ago.

I want to be able to hold 2nd or 3rd without it down shifting at WOT to tune below 3k @ WOT.

Slight confusion. I managed to get a smooth 13.5-13.8 AFR in 2nd gear but when I tested it in 3rd, my AFR dropped to 12's.

Do I really want the most power in 3rd? Or should I stick with 13's in 2nd?

you're supposed to tune in 3rd. 1st and 2nd are too short to get the data properly.
Having said that, not sure why it would matter which gear you tuned in, it's not a dyno.

Well, im wondering because if I tune in 2nd for 13.8 AFR, does that mean 1st gear is in 14.8's AFR and 4rd is in 12.8 AFR?

Im just comparing data. Like i said, after completing street tuning in 2nd, i got a nice flat 13.4-13.8 AFR line, but when i logged the data in a 3rd gear pull, it came out in the 12's.
