Agree with others, you are to vague. Did you sand the transmission/engine mating surface?

What about codes?

also

Is your fuel hooked up correctly??

Your inflow should be up by the radiator and the outflow should be coming out the firewall side

Can you hear the fuel pump prime????

Try flipping the fuel rail and have a buddy check the injectors to make sure you are getting fuel.

Also has the engine ever have a compression check?

Yea I can hear it prime. I also took off the gas line that comes from the top of the gas filter to the motor and when i turned the key gas was coming out so that should be fine...I haven't had a compression check, how is that done?

Does the engine try to start at all or does it sound like totally pointless cranking?

I think you should check to be sure the fuel is building pressure in the rails. There's a procedure for this in the FSM. Also, may I suggest trying running a ground wire directly to your ckps (onto the bolt/block interface)

i dont have a pic, but make sure the fuel line coming from the fuel filter goes to the front of the fuel rail (the end closest to the front of the engine).

turn the key to the acc and check if your engine light comes on. if it dosnt then your ground to your injectors isnt connect correctly.

have you tried feathering the gas a little bit while trying to start it to see if you can get it closer to starting? i used to have to do that on my 95 SE when the engine was completely cold.

Did you route the fuel lines properly? I hope you didnt put the line from the filter to the front of the fuel rail, if so thats your problem. The front is a fuel damper not a pressure regulator the one at the firewall side is the fuel pressure regulator which should be connected to the hose coming from te top of the filter. I had the same problem last month after I rebuilt dek motor. Is this a junk yard motor?

Read the factory manual. Its the other way around (your backwards) understand ( fuel damper) and Fuel Pressure regulator what they are there for!

most people get the stephen max iacv adapter where they plug up into...
if you leave them dangaling or zip tie them up you shouldnt throw a code if the actual iacv eletrical clip is plugged in and zip tied.

Did you figure out why it wasnt starting yet? Me and my brother had the exact same problem you are having when we finished putting his motor in saturday. It would crank and crank and nothing would happen. We checked everything and it ended up being his fuel lines. He put them on backwards. We switched them and it started right up.
