I've wanted to go turbo for a while in my 3rd gen. Choices are turbo my current VG30E or engine swap. ive been wondering if the older VG30E from Z31/2nd gen Maximas would fit in a 3rd gen without any major problems? if it would clear fine, ive been considering getting a old school VG30ET from a Z31 turbo and swapping it, theres one for sale here for cheap in good shape so i would grab it and store it til the summer when i would do the swap. I also like that the VG30ET doesnt need a intercooler

yea shouldn't be a issue just check the crank snout for length irrc VG30i some pathfinder vg30e and qwest motors have longer crank snout but other then that all vg30 blocks are the same with a few internal changes and Big-E put a VG30et in his 2nd gen. As for the intercooler yea it didn't come with one from the factory but I feel it would be a good idea to use one even if it's for a few more HP and not worrying about heat issues, your going from a RWD to a FWD and will be completely changing the air flow over the engine.
