problems after 5 speed swap

i've got a 96 A32 with an 00vi and turbo, I've just completed a 5 speed swap and i'm having problems with the idle, when rolling to a stop with the clutch in the car idles at 2k rpm for a couple of seconds, before dropping to a idle of ~700 odd. I've tried winding out the idle screw but that just makes the car stall out when it drops back to the 700~ rpm idle.

Would changing to the 5 speed ECU fix this or is this a unrelated problem? its also possible that this was happening when i was an AUTO as often my RPM at idle would sit at 1000.

Any ideas of what else could cause the problems?

its your IACV....if you unplug it it will work fine. My car did the same thing after the 5spd swap and i did the same thing w/ the screw of the TB but that only helped after the rpm dropping after bout 5-8sec.....changing the ecu to a 5spd will eliminate the problem and you can have your IACV connected.

Indeed, the problem lies with the 4AT ECU. Swap that out, problem solved.
