Spray w/ JWT ECU????

Ok so I finally found a 99 ecu for my i30 dek swapped car. anyway the car runs much better with this ecu compared to the stock auto one. Anyway before i got this ecu i ran the car with a lot of spray. I know that with advanced timing and spray= boom but i was wondering if anyone knows how much JWT advances the timing and if there would be any way to spray a small shot. I know that with advance timing the chances of detonation are greater with spray but i was thinking if i made the gap of the plugs even smaller to like .030 or so.....anyone ever try this? also does anyone know how much they advance timing? i cant figure it out. It's JWT ecu w/ advanced fuel curve and timing and 8k fuel cut. Any help would be appreciated...thanks

With a meth injection setup you can spray with advanced timing. I a currently tuning my meth/nitrous setup and will start a new thread when I am finished. You should be able to spray with any N/A timing setup using meth injection.

The meth is 115+ octane which allows the advanced timing, I wouldn't spray normal timing without some protection, its suicide.

jwt sets the timing around 30-31 degree's full advance

I have a jwt ecu on my maxima and would spray a 50shot and a 100 on race fuel or meth like stated above and still have the same motor

To give you something to judge by on my G35 I had it tuned for a 75shot on 93octane with 26-28degree's timing and it's around 32-33 n/a

btw setting the gap tighter helps with blow out not detention

ok so i would assume i would be somewhat safe spraying a 50shot or so with 2 step colder and some race fuel? as in 100 octane or higher.....

race fuel will not help on N/A applications will it? because i believe the higher the octane the lower the flash point (ignition) which will cause preignition....

also you think i would notice a diff with a little higher octane like mixing 2-3 gallons of 100 octane with about 6 gallons of 93?

IIRC, I though the JWT was dangerously lean?

what do you mean? without any corrections in my AFC the a/f is at 13.2 going down to 12.4ish towards redline.......

I played around with the A/F tonight and have it right about 13.2.-13.5 from 3k to redline

If you have monitored it, then you're fine. If you have an OBD monitor/logger then you can log timing too, correct?

mine was 13.1-13.3 with no corrections on the vafc2

Nope, even with a 50/50 mix you would only be around 96.5 octane. When I had my G35 tuned even a 50/50 mix with 93 and 104 I only gained about 3-4hp n/a and was only able to add about 2-3 degree's of timing and it still pinged alittle. He then try'd with less timing with the same gas mix and it made the same hp with no ping but 7-8 more tq. So, the tuner gave my the option to run the extra timing straight 100+ or pull some timing and run 93. Due to the cost of race fuel I just pulled the timing.

From what I noticed if you want to mix the gas you need atleast 108 which does not cost much more than 104 and still unleaded

I believe it was the SC tune that people claimed to be running dangerously lean.

Either way, even with the JWT ECU, there's still power left on the table as is with all cookie cutter ECUs. A friend of mine with a 3.5 swap gained another 10whp and 8wtq on top of his JWT "VQ35" tune with the 7200rpm limit.
