Pathfinder TB idle

So I finally installed my Pathfinder TB (BBMAF was a fail due to it causing my A/F to shoot up to the 20's). Anyways with the TB and StephenMax plates, I obviously had to adjust the throttle cable and I adjusted it to the maximum. That being said my idle is at 1000 max or very slightly below. Is that normal idle for a Pathfinder TB?

Also using my original TPS and IACV. I removed the BBMAF and looks like it needs to install right before a Dyno.

No that is not normal for the Pathy TB. My car with the Pathy TB idles around 700 and with the IACV the car has no cold start or idle issues, it starts and runs like a stock engine.

I removed all the coolant stuff and by-passed the coolant hoses, made a block off plate for the coolant part that runs thru the bottom of the TB. Also removed that vacuum idle thing on top of the Pathy TB. Use that spare nipple to supply the EGR with throttle plate vacuum if your car has EGR. I adjusted the TPS and that stop screw on the TB so that when the plate is closed the car will idle at 700 rpm. With my multimeter I measured the resistance on the TPS and adjusted it to the specifications in the Haynes manual. It took a couple of hours of messing with the Pathy TB but if I can get it right, you can make it work as well.

I will try this but I have no idea about using a multimeter. Its my daily so I'd like to fix ASAP. Also is your throttle cable adjusted to the max it can go?

Maybe find someone in your area that knows how to use one? They are not hard to use. The hard part is using the shims and adjusting the TPS/throttle screw which can take some time to get right.

You have a 5th gen so the throttle cable is different, but on my car the throttle and cruise cables just make it far enough to reach the TB and still work normally. I am near the end of the adjustment on the TB cable nuts but still have enough room to adjust for the slack.

I had all kinds of idle issues when I first put the pathfinder TB on my girls car. All I dd was adjust the TPS until it was "normal". The battery in my multimeter was dead so I adjusted it until it idled correctly. Our biggest issue was everytime we went WOT the car would shut off (which was very dangerous) but its all good now.

Look into this.

http://forums.nicoclub.com/rb20-maf-size-t290827.html

If you go to your EU parameters, change the Airflow Meter Type to either Z32 or RBxx and see what happens, since they are similar sizes to typical BBMAFs (75-80mm).

Thanks Moncef, I was going to but didnt have time yet, 8.5 hour NWP spacer install yesterday.

After my spacer install though my AF is 16's at idle (stoich when driving). Also my rpms are way up at idle. Around 1500. I checked the TPS and I was very close to stock at 4.3. Is it possibly now a tuning issue
