Rich Tune after Tranny Swap???

Hey,

So my 5-speed LSD transmission finally died on me (2nd gear ceases to exist). So I put in another LSD that was rebuilt a while back and the install went fairly well for my first time. The car is up and running and the gear shifting has never been better. Never knew the car could shift so precisely.

Here is the weird thing. My tune is now running way richer for some odd reason. On the way to my friends house where I was to do the swap the car idled/cruised fine and the WOT was dead on for the tune.

Now it runs like its in full WOT all the time. I did have the power disconnected for like 4-5 days.

I did try to take off the rear o2 but was unsuccessful. I heated the **** out of it with a propane torch and tried to remove it. Failed at that and re tightened it back in (this was when I was trying to take the passenger axle out, o2 was in the way. I don't have any leaks in the exhaust (would lean the mix out if I did).

I can easily retune. Its wierd cause when I do go WOT the tune is dead on. Just cruising is way to rich. I have no check engine light for a bad o2. So I'm confused.

Haven't checked my tune on the EU so I'll do that tomorrow and see whats going on.

Any ideas would be appreciated

That is weird because I went from the 03 HLSD tranny to the 06 HLSD tranny with the different final drive and nothing changed. I doubt the EU is the problem. You should be able to disconnect the EU throw it on a shelf for a few years, lug it back in and the tune is still there. Did you maybe bump the wideband o2?

The car feels rich and smells rich. I'll unplug the rear o2 and see if it changes anything. If it does I'll re-tune.

Can an o2 be bad but not trip a check engine light? I can't see anything else messing this up. I unplugged the EU and used the stock ECU and no change. Unplugged the rear o2 and front o2 and no change.

So its either rear o2 or my z32 MAF is crap.

She fell off a while back. I then re tuned with the EU. Earlier on though I did take out the MAF and removed any extra tape. I'm going tomorrow to hopefully get another o2 from the junkyard.

For a quick sanity check, put it back on and see what happens...

The tape helped at WOT. See my issue is that while cruising/idle its the same A/F roughly 11-12 but at WOT its the same closer to 12 which is what it was always tuned for.

The only thing I touched under the car was the o2 sensor.

if you disconnected the O2's and its the same, its staying in open-loop. Just unplug em and tune manually sub 3K. You on duration yet or you still rocking the map?

I'm doing a SAFC tune on my EU If I tune via duration or duty cycle I get that weird random stumble/hesitation. Also anything passed stock redline is useless. I run out of efficiency on my supercharger.

Hows your secret project going ^_^

Well, replaced the o2 and all is fine now. Ok I wish it was that easy. I had to heat the **** out of it and use vice grips to pull/push back and forth. In the end the thread on the o2 was ****ed. Had to cut out a bung from the spare maxima y-pipe I had and weld it on my current y-pipe. At this point the car was good to go, 3 hours later.
