i will answer in this thread

the 4th gen DOES have a MAP sensor but is only for emission purposes....but the VAFC will try to make a correction to whatever you have it connected to.... in this case an A32 MAF ,...it doesn't matter if they say it only works for a MAP ,it works on a 4th gen,....i have one connected on mi VQ30(4th gen) on my S13 to make correction to my DE-K injectors......if you have any q's feel free to ask them

this is all based on a fight i got into over a trade where 4 people were yelling at me about how a vafc only tunes with MAP and me telling them 50,000 times that its working on my hot wire maf car.

but that me wondering why it works for us.

Tech support at Apex-i said "the vafc controls fuel by modifying the MAP sensor voltage because it is designed to work primarily for Honda vehicles, which are tuned through MAP. If you have found a way to make it work for a MAF car more power to you, but the VAFC is not designed to modify MAF voltage."

because you are modifiying voltage....it doesn't matter if its modding the voltage on a MAF or a MAP its only modifiying a 0-5V signal to the ECU(it does not care about what is giving that signal,it just lowers or rises the voltage feedback to the ECU)...

Right. But there are separate wires for maf and map on the vafc. It is only supposed to modify the signal from the wires on the map side. The wires are white and....maybe green. The maf voltage is not supposed to be modified, only used as a reference.

Either tech support knows very little about the way their products work, or our cars will make fuel adjustments based on map.
