I thought about doing a vq swap in that light body years ago. That car must be insane to drive.

What are you reving to? edit looking at the graph looks like its reving to 8k

Do you have the runfiles?

Crazy sound, sounds like a WG dump on a turbo car. 300 is decent, prob has alot of tuning left or supporting mods (exhaust). But at least its not inflated numbers.

Nice car bro.

I was expecting well over 300whp also...and only 235TQ?? What is up with that? Need more details on the setup here...what kind of exhaust? headers? etc. Would like to see the graph with HP and TQ mapped together with AFR ratio ort something......I would say still have some tuning to go.....with having control over the IVT with the Haltech you should really have more TQ than 235...

Seems like alot of tuning left to be done...

Saludos yanvq35... Es juan el del maxima.. Te voy a llamar en estos dias a ver si me llevo la araña..

Hi guys, well amazing would be the word here, sound nasty.. I tell him there is more posibilities to make more horse power.. Is using a 4" cai like surratt did, its seem that the power band it is more smoother with this mod.. He is planning on modifiying the intake and he could gain a couple horse power, with the head port too.. Let see what happen!!

Oh ok that somewhat explains it. by ebay headers do you mean the shorty headers? If so get some longer headers, atleast like the 3.5 obx headers. Wonder why the compression is so low though? Is it rings or valve issues? The c9 cams require head clearancing that was done???

Once you tweak a few things and re tune this should really make imo 320+

A regular vq35 with some s1 cams can do 300.

I really like your build! One of the few car running that many nice mods! You have a huge advantage too being lighter!

Nice job!

What? 11:1 compression is higher then stock, that is not your reason for lack of hp.

Your 150 psi compresssion test is probably most of the problem. But the question is why is it low...

Did you pour oil in the cylinder to see if it was a ring issue?

the engine has no problems is that C9 is very high for that comprecion.
I miss all tipi and supporting evidence; to the cylinders and comprecion probe was similar in all 3 watches
assemble the results had to prove that the c9 and I like good graphics hp
if it was a 2009 with the C9 engine the result would be more hp to 11.01

I think he is trying to say that c9 cams are too agressive for high compresion cars.. I have not read the specifics for this cams on jwt page but maybe will gain more horsepower if he where boosted! Surratt correct me if i am wrong!

wait, wat? To aggressive for cars with high compression? That makes no sense, because the C9 cams give up power on boosted cars vs the C8s(less aggressive), the C9s were specifically developed for high compression/revving NA motors.

The bottle neck in this setup are the heads and IM, gonna need something better than an SSIM, and stock heads will not flow enough at high rpm. Plus he seems to be having a compression issue, thats most likely the main problem.
