Sooo...5.7...and 6 Speed Swapped the car...
Been a hellacious couple of months and really just got irritated when the level ten trans locked up in 2d gear during my commute from work seriously...an hour and half drive normally at 47mph is horrible...
Needless to say i having grenaded what I was determined would be the LAST AUTOMATIC in my maxima decided to step into the swap.
This begat
which as soon as i got the 6spd running turned into
After running around on this for about a month, a deal presented itself so i am currently knee deep in the middle of this....
So a few more updates coming...as i work through the bugs
Big props to #PopsGarage for the motor prep, and the install

Sweet! The more 5.7 gens we get the better we can debug this setup. Keep up the good work!
Darren, does this make #3? I'm not even sure if I was the second one to do this swap...

ITs up and running. Only issue was the wrong gasket for teh filler neck. smh. needless to say the grey poromeric that they sell at nissan for oil pans made a beautiful gasket until the proper one comes in. other than that. perfect first start attempt and all the way to first test drive.
big difference.

Wait a minute ...
Even though I've owned my '99 since new and have done quite a good amount of work on it myself, I don't profess to be an aficionado by any stretch. I am however quite familiar and experienced in Ford V8s, primarily the V8 powered F series trucks.
I may be mixing my terms here but when someone says to me "5.7", the only thing I think of is the GM 5.7 liter V8 aka the GM 350.
Are you guys telling me that a GM 350 has been transplanted into 5th Gen Maxima?!

no none yet.
yeah there are a few people wanting too. but there are not even many full 3.5 swapped 4th gens much less a full 3.5 swap with a 09vq.
