advice on 3.5 swap cam setting

Looking for anybody with good knowledge with setting the cams,as I have performance cams and I don't think they r setup right, they were not redrilled, reason I say is because I'm boosted and I feel I have to much overlap.I have a set of Tomei hr 264. Here r my specs

OK..

Who timed your cams?

or did you get the Stephenmax One-Timing-fits-ALL-CAMS adapters?

Engine builder timed it but I didn't have the specs at the time with Stephenmax adapters.

3.0 timing. Exhaust: straight up timing, intake: +4* ( as I recall) I did my Cosworth setup with exhaust: straight up, same with intake. Moves the power curve up starting at 4500 that way.

By cosworth u mean u had cosworth cams, and I think the power curve starts around 4krpm which I feel is too high can I lower it.

I'm also boosted so would to have the exhaust with less duration.cause I want to jam as much air as I can before piston starts going back down.

Cosworth cams are similar to what you had installed. I'm using the 3.0 timing parts in my 3.5 which means fixed intake and exhaust timing. I did not use the Stephen Max timing adapter which has 4* advance on intake cams only. I had two 3.0 intake gears machined to use the OEM 3.5 cam pins but with 0* advance on intake cams. Cam duration is set by the cams, and fixed timing can be changed with the 3.0. Power curve is shifted up, really starting at 4500.

If you are talking about a 2002+ 3.5 with factory variable timing, then the ECU will control cam timing automatically. There are no "adapters" involved. You're stuck with moderately long duration cams that won't have much low-end power and with some blow-thru with a turbo or supercharger.

No I'm running 3.0 timming,so u saying at 4500rpm timing advances?yea I know its fixed and I hate it,so I wanna redrill them for the best set setting the cams.

Based on my experience with a set of Ebay S1 cams with StephenMax adapters, you can advance just the intake cams 4 degrees and get more power down low. That opens the LSA (lobe separation angle) giving a meaner idle, and using a 2800 stall converter I could launch right into a 75-shot of nitrous and still hit the rev limiter rather quickly. I sprayed a second stage if I was feeling lucky that day. With the 75-shot, my very first 1/4 mile with that 3.5 was a 12.8 ET. With open headers, it had an impressive idle.
