the old thread is closed, but i need some serious clarification...the transmission mount, is the only one that can be used to mount the trans the SILVER one, or do you HAVE TO use the black one that gets modified to the fender?

 

Yes, you have to use the Black 6spd mount that bolts to the frame.

you also have to cut off the factory 'ear brackets' for the auto/5spd mount to be able to position the 6spd mount on the frame in that spot.

only 02-03 Maxima 6spd mount will work, the maxima 04+/sentra se-r/altima se-r mounts are different.


You CAN make a custom mount to bolt onto the 6spd reusing the 5spd/auto 'ear brackets', but the factory 6spd mount is a better/stronger mounting option.

I've answered this a few times and on my blog iirc.

You can use ANY Maxima/Altima 6mt mount and bracket.

But you must use the SAME mount and bracket.

EG. 02 Maxima Mount and Bracket will work fine. 04 Maxima Mount and Bracket will work fine. 06 Altima 3.5 mount and bracket will work fine.

But DO NOT mix the cars eg. 02 Maxima bracket and 06 Altima mount. You will have problems there.
