Hey all. I'm new to this. I have a 2016 Maxima SR and I'm trying to install a performance chip that had to be spliced into the IAT portion of the MAF sensor. On the 2016 model the IAT intake air tempature sensor is built into the MAF mass air flow sensor. There are 4 wires total and I need the 2 to the IAT. Thanks

I'm not sure if this is a real post kinda smells like a troll but if it is real I'll start with.
Cabi do yourself a favor and don't clip any wire to your car. Go and read some info on this site about "chips". You have a brand new car with the dreaded performance killer cvt transmission. Don't go doing things that could jeopardize the warranty. You might need that warranty.
"Straight to the point" would be is all it does is modify the signal so that the iat temp reads lower than it actually is. I wouldn't doubt that it makes it read like a sub zero temp to try and make the ecu push a little more timing. IF that's is the case, you risk *** loads of detonation on a 110 day because your car wants to run timing for what it thinks is cold air.
Otherwise just probe all the wires and read them with a voltmeter ever hour. The iat will be different each time while the maf readings don't change. Or get a wiring diagram.

That's what a knock sensor is for
I have AFR's and timing logs to prove outside temps really don't matter.
Fakie
OP, dowlonad a bluetooth app and plug it into your car via OBD/Consult interface and comapre AFR and timing logs with and without it, before you return it of course.
Well I just got it hooked up. It was fairly simple and an easy uninstall if I don't like it. The reviews I've read seem to be positive by other customers Who state they notice an increase in horsepower instantly with increase in miles per gallon with time. Time will tell.

How long do you have to return it?..
Because the mpg gains won't show until a few weeks after you're stuck with it.

Oh...I always forget about sensors. And if that's case about it iat's not mattering then mabye it can trick maf into running lean or something, I dunno.
