Fronspeaker box

Does anyone have instructions on how to make speaker boxes for the front doors which will fit 6 1/2 speakers.

By the way I already searched and couldn't find anything.

Thanks

The problem with putting a box behind the front speakers is that the window rolls down too far. I think Whitemax turned his map pocket into an enclosure for his Dynaudio MW170's. Are you still in Canada? You should drive down to the states. We could build it here. But most car mids are designed to work in the leaky sealed environment of the car door.

I realize this, I am just trying to get better sound without buying new speakers.

I am pretty sure Anton just used MDF for the baffle. Like most of us, except mine is birch plywood. The frame for my baffle is glass. But it still vents into the door. A barrier along the window rails would need to be inserted in order to build an enclosure in there. But the new baffle and a well sealed door is what causes the most dramatic change in SQ. Along with generous dampening material. Sweetsound has a page on sounddomain.com. I don't have the link handy, but he posts it often enough that it should be easy to find.

What drivers are you using in the doors?

I have eclipse point source with power by a V12 sending about 100rms a side. I do have some sound deadening material, but I am always looking for cheap ways to get better SQ.

A solid mounting location with good seal is a great start. Are you Stephen Naryan? Or are there now two Canuck's?

The solid mount can be wood, glass - or other composite, metal, whatever. The seal has nearly infinite possibilities as well. Dampening material can serve this purpose in a bind.

Okay, Stephen is a member of teamamp and recently swapped out some phase linear aliante subs. I have no idea what anyone would swap those with. They are probably only out-priced by the old Velodyne's. But the Vel's are now only available used. The other thing is that I think he's already done a lot of the things you asked about, thus my confusion.
