I had a set of Eclipse 3-way 6x9s. They were pretty damn powerful for little 6x9s. They were in my old car and are currently sitting in my garage if you are interested in them.

What's your budget? There are a lot of good single 12s that you can get for that amp. If you want the best, look into Image Dynamics IDMAX or Adire Brahma, those will cost you $300-400 though. The Kicker will definately get loud, but won't sound as good as other subs. If you want a really good sub go to www.respl.com and check out the SE or the HC. There aren't a whole lot of single 12s that can take 800+ watts without problems.

Between the 2 I would take the L7 over the RF.

My $.02

Oops ignore my last post. For some reason I thought that you were asking about 6x9s. As for 6.5" speakers, MB Quart is what I had in my old car. The components came with mids, tweets and crossovers. It was the professional series. I have those sitting on my desk, new in the box.

what sounds good is subjective tho...i like everything but the most mellow tweets...but the next guy might like JUST mellow, or JUST bright. due to this, my suggestion is that he just goes to the local shops to listen to the different things available.

as far as specific suggestions, i would have to suggest the jl tr, vr, and xr's, with emphasis on the xr's. they are titanium dome tweeters, but have silk for a surround, so they arent overly mellow, and arent overly bright...its one of the best all around compromises. of course, this is all against my beliefs to put speakers in the rear, but thats just personal preference.
