Help me Design an AWESOME sound system

ok i'm thinking about rewiring the car and going full out on my stereo. i have the bose and i hate it for the record.

What i already have:
-Sirius Radio Tuner Box
-Terk Satellite Antenna
-Kenwood KDC MP-919 Headunit(3 4.5volt preouts, one non-fading)
-All the harnesses and adapters
-1 12.1 Infinity Kappa Perfect
-700watt no name Amp(will be replacing soon)

What i Want:
-6.5 inch Speakers for the front doors
-Maybe 2 2 channel amps for the front and rear speakers or am i better off with one 4 channel amp.
-5.25 Inch speakers for the rear doors
-Distribution Block
-Speaker cable to rewire whole car
-CAPACITORS, one per amp??? or can i run one for the whole system.
-amp to replace the crappy one for the SUB

thanks for all your input and help, i'm looking for the sound quality over loudness with teh speakers but i definelty want loud ones. the amps i want a decent name, but nothing too crazy, you cna get 100-200 watt 2 channel amps fro pretty cheap. i'm good with getting stuff cheap and i dont want to spend much over like 600 bucks and i know i can find a lot of it for good prices but i need to know that's the bst to get. thanks guys.

by the looks of it, it looks like your system will be over 1000 watts........you'll need about 2 farads of capacitance

at about 1000 watts in my system, i have a 1 farad stinger cap that keeps the car from draining at all.

If your battery is good, then 1 cap for every 1000 watts will work. I've got 2 1 farad caps on my system and it's pushing almost 2200 watts (4 amps, 2 subs, etc.) and the lights never dim, but I've also got a Holley Annihilator battery in there. With my old stock battery, my system was dimming with 1 cap on only like 400 watts.

Focal speakers up front, either the Polyglass or PolyKevlar comps, shop around for the on the net, but Im telling you, you will love them. I have the PK165k's and man talk about awesome sounding. As for amp/sub, if you want more kick and low end and the ability to go loud check out Image Dynamics IDMAX 12, I have one, and Im telling you its the only and LAST sub i ever want, running off a MTX6500d at 2ohms getting it around 800rms solid.

Focal 165k rear speakers in mine, and again, I cant complain at ALL.

I have around 1000rms running, NO CAP and get minimal dimming. My front amp is a mtx302. 125x2 to the fronts, rears off the deck (alpine 7894 mp3).

Off all the systems Ive ever sat in I can say without a doubt mine stays the CLEANEST sounding while still going WAY LOUD....IM talking 140db's+ with that one sub.

Main thing though, try and listen to all you can cause everyones stuff sounds different......I made a 2 hour drive to hear my speakers and sub, and let me tell you it was worth it, then I bought it off the net for a little cheaper

that is definetly what i'm looking for, cleanest sounding but still loud. Focal's hmm i'll have to look around for them i found some Infinity Kappa 6.5inchers for like 90 bucks new but maybe i'll hold out. i'm gonna get a 4 channel amp with two sets of RCS inputs for my highs, prolly like a 50x4 RMS Kenwood with a low THD. i'm gonna keep the kappa perfect for a little while they are supposed to be good and i'll pick up two caps from Delio for only 100 bucks then get some decent speakers for the rear. i'm all about shopping around i'll get it all for cheap.

I heard that too, but was afraid to post for fear of being flamed. They said its like putting a bandaid on a deep knife wound. It just plain sucks. I heard that Optima Yellow Top batteries are about the best you can get and to get the biggest alternator you can.

Your thread title and your budget are at odds. For $600 you can't hardly get the stuff on your list that's only decent let alone "AWESOME" stuff. I spent almost $600 on just the four speakers I put in my Max. I don't think you can get 2 1F caps, 4 speakers, 2 amps (1 for sub and a 4 channel), speaker wire and a distro block for anywhere near $600.

For what you're listing to get midgrade stuff you're looking at probably at least $350 on amps, $150 on caps, $30 on speaker wire. and around $250 (or more) on speakers. And trust me when I say, more on speakers is good.

LOL, just noticed your price.....I spent $500 on speakers alone with getting them online for cheap, sub was $450, sub amp $400. Yeah, thats just it, you want LOUD AND CLEAN, you gotta spend the money for it...LOL

ya i've been adding it up now that i've looked into it more and i think i'll have to up it a little but i think i can still do it. i can get two caps for 100 bucks from delio, i found kappa perfect speakers for 90 a pair for the front, still looknig for rears, i'll get a kenwood amp 4 channel 200watts RMS for around 200, speaker wire and distribution block and oterh wires for like 100 so that's like 600 bucks and then i'll need a sub amp for around 200 bucks. it should sound good. i like to somewhat take my time and get the best deals. i figure if i look i can get the speakers for 200 for all 4.

$50 a sub???? I don't think you will get awesome sound out of a $50 sub. That is about how much the Rockford Punch 10s cost and they sound terrible.

Kappa's can't handle power.. they are weak..

well my system consist of..

Speakers
(Front) Diamond Audio M561 Components @ 120 Watts RMS
(Rear) Diamond Audio Hex Woofers @ 130 Watts RMS
(Sub) IDMax 12 Inch <-- king of the 12 inches (Moblie Entertainment) @ 1000 Watts RMS

i have nevered heard a better sounding sub than the IDMax.. i swear to God.. this sub is the best sounding sub i have ever heard.. SQ and SPL in one package..

Amps
(Front) Kicker 120.2
(Rear) Kicker 120.2
(Sub) Kicker 600.1

Head Unit
JVC SH-99

for the IDMax 12 i would recommend the JBL 1200 amp.. its cheap on price but big on performance..

you havn't heard a sub till you heard an IDMax

I think I want to go up on my bass output especially on the high end volume. I could do a search but I'm supposed to be working. Do you know roughly what they cost?

sorry

my cousin had 1 Kicker 12 Solobaric in his Dodge Caravan.. mind you thats all Open Cabin.. so no bass is being defused.. and he had 400 watts going to it..

he now has an ID Max 12 ID4 in his Dodge Interpid in the trunk at only 200 watts.. and trust me it kicks the solobaric a$$ all over town.. the bass is tighter.. its more accurate.. its crazy..

then to make it worse.. i had another sub for a member here and i was testing it in my car on my Kicker 600.1 lets just say.. at 600 watts.. the sub was 10 times better than at 200 watts.. and my cousin was freaking out.. he wanted to go buy an Amp the next day .. it was freaking crazy in the difference.. and this sub takes 1000 - 1800 watts RMS.. not PEAK people.. RMS.. this sub kills anythign out there.. the cone has a 3 inch movement.. it literally moves 3 inches

a) Change the amps to either JL Audio, Xtant, Zapco, Phoenix Gold, Kicker, Arc Audio, or a/d/s
b) As far as speakers are concerned, I would look at JL Audio, Boston Acoustics, Focal, a/d/s, Eclipse Point Source, Rainbow, CDT
c) I agree with the second battery or the yellow top
d) Add an Audio Control DQT EQ

Is it going to be cheap? Uhhhhh...no.
