problem with 4-channel amp

I have a '91 gxe w/ active speaker system. i replaced the rear and front speakers and just put in an Alpine mrv-400 4-channel amp. I also have a kenwood kdc7011 headunit. Finally got all of the cables hooked up today and my rear speakers are giving me a problem. At higher volumes, it crackles and when i raise the volume a little more the sound from the front and rear totally cuts off. my front speakers are fine. Do any of you guys know what's wrong?

I experienced the same problem with my rear speakers. IF you take them out of the rear deck and then connect them to the amp you'll notice that it doesn't do that any more. YOu need to get some adapters or something to keep your speakers in the rear from grounded out to the fram of the car.
