How do i install a line output converter?? 02 GLE w/Bose

Wifey bought a new stereo for her car. It's a pioneer fh-x720bt double din. The guy at Bestbuy said we needed this line output converter for the stock amp to work with the new head unit .It's a PAC LOC PRO LP6-4...but I'm confused as to how to wire it up and the crazy thing is I looked up this model LOC online and there's no info about it whatsoever...not even on PAC's website...there's an LP5-4 model and LP7-4 model but no LP6-4

First of all, you only need it if you are replacing a Bose radio.

The PAC LOC PRO must be a newer line of adapters. Take it back and get the older NIS-2 adapter, it works fine. The NIS-2 comes with the wire harness adapters. You just need the antenna adapter and trim plate.

Here is a photo of it in my car.

Thanks. But it kills a lot of time doing stuff like that.

yeah I'm replacing the factory bose headunit with a pioneer...I contacted PAC n they told me best buy has to have their own product number so the LP6-4 at best buy is actually the LP7-4.

the best buy guy might have shafted you. a LOC turns a high level signal into a low level signal, which your cd player already has. I am not sure whether or not this particular LOC can switch it from low level to a high level, if it can then you are set. What does the back of the stock bose head unit look like?

based on the drawings of this unit, this is the unit you need.

I think hrtbrk1 meant the back of the Pioneer radio. The Bose radio is out and not part of the equation.

Anyway, here is the wire connections for the Pioneer harness to the PAC ROEM harness (the A cable without ends).

There is one wire from the Pioneer that you need to connect to 2 wires on the PAC ROEM cable. Pioneer calls it the power antenna wire. It needs to go to the PAC ROEM power antenna wire and also the amplifier on wire.

Code:
Wiring a Pioneer FH-X720BT to
the PAC ROEM NIS-2 A-cable

		     PIONEER NIS-2
FUNCTION COLOR COLOR
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
chassis ground black black

12 volts constant yellow yellow

12 volts switched red red

dashlights orange/white orange

LF speaker + white white

LF speaker - white/blk white/blk

RF speaker + gray gray

RF speaker - gray/blk gray/blk

LR speaker + green green

LR speaker - green/blk green/blk

RR speaker + violet violet

RR speaker - violet/blk violet/blk

power antenna blue/white blue/white
				   blue (connect to blue/white wire)

	WIRES NOT USED

radio mute yellow/black on Pioneer cable
LF speaker low white/red on PAC ROEM NIS-2 cable
RF speaker low gray/red on PAC ROEM NIS-2 cable
LR speaker low green/red on PAC ROEM NIS-2 cable
RR speaker low violet/red on PAC ROEM NIS-2 cable

The Adapter showed up in the mail on Saturday. Got the wires all connected to the pioneer harness just like Dennis posted. Didn't get a chance to install the stereo yet since my wife is always cruising the damn car. Hoping to get it done tomorrow after work n ill try n take some pics. The guy at best buy seemed really convincing....he was like you definitely need this or your radio wouldn't work. I showed it to my wife's cousin yesterday and he laughed at me lol...told me that is only for when u have an aftermarket amp which I don't have
