Alpine CVA-1000 Lock deactivation?

I just won a Alpine CVA-1000 on ebay that I play on hooking up to my alpine nav. system and PS2. I think it might have a lock on it so you cant play ps2 while the car is moving. Can anyone verify if the CVA-1000 has the lock? If it does how can I deactivate it?

I'm pretty sure that the 1000 model doesn't have the e-brake protection. That's the reason why there is no bypass switch available. If you do a search on ebay for alpine bypass you'll see that those switches are for the 1003 and later. Even if you do need a switch, all you need to do is go to RadioShack. The instructions for how to hook one up can be found easily online.

The CVA1000 should have a simple ground wire that will allow it to display video without the e-brake on. I believe that it was designed to ground when the break is pulled, so just ground it outright and you should be fine.

I'm working off memory here though as it's been about 4 years or so since I've installed a CVA1000.

Hopefully I'm not sending you on a wild goose chase
