What is this thing that came with the subwoofer?

What is this thing that came with the subwoofer?

Got my infnity kappa 12's today, they came with some kind circular disc of black foam with peeling sticky paper under it, it looks like a cup coaster, you take the circular layers and peel them off (like twizzler, lol), what is it for? No mention of it in the books, thanks.

I believe that goes on the back of the speaker so when youu flush mount it it will prevent any leaks. The foam acts as a seal between the speaker and the hard mounting surface.

Also quite possibly for the person building the box it may be used as a template.

thanks, I think it's there for the insulation, too small to be a template. I'll post pics when I'm done

It's a seal, unroll it and attach it to the trim ring around the sub before you install it. It compresses and helps to prevent leaks.
