Crunch Time/ Which Speaker Set

Hey all,

I've almost made my final decision. I just need to choose from the following 3 options. I hope you guys can help with some advice on them, SQ-wise. Could you also reply back with what amp you think I should get to power these speakers from Alpine, JL, or Sony. Thank you to all those that have helped me so much already and anyone else that replies. PearlMax, can you email me some quotes on these badboys. Thanks.

Another vote for the Focal.

As far as amps go, if you do decide on the Alpine headunit (yep, been reading your threads ) make sure your amp pushes more than 30w/channel otherwise you can just power the speakers using the headunit (27x4 RMS as tested by Mobile Electronics)

Although if using a component set, it is HIGHLY recomended to use an amp, NOT HU power. MBQ will tell you this themselves. The signal is not clean enough, and have had MANY blown sets as a result from this.

I know, thus why i said if he's getting an amp with less than 30w he's better off not getting one.

However, i can say this. With my past Kenwood eXcelon X815 and the 7894, the 7894 does pump more power and makes the comps sound a lot better.

hrmmm do u think aiming the tweets in the back like that ruins the sound staging??? usually for the backs if it's deck mounted i point it at the windshield and let the sound bounce off, because if u aim it may distort the sound imaging.

mmmm not at all.. I'm the driver 99% of the time and I'm used to the way it sounds from the front so I ask all my friends who sat in the back of the car about my system and everyone love it.

That's the 165K in the back, 165K2 up front... Too bad you're a west coaster Mingo... if u live closer I can just have you check it out

What I really want to try is swap the rears up front and the 165K2 to the rear. Right now I just want those darn custom size faceplate rings for the front tweets.
