Max carpet color

I'm about ready to carpet some things and I want to match it up as close as possible. The local stores didn't have anything real close. Is there a specific brand and color that I should try to get a hold of, a man's gotta be stealth ya know.

By the by, has anyone had problems with deep 6.5"ers in the front doors? I'm putting my new ones in soon and have some worries.

Really can't help you on carpet, but try:
http://www.selectproducts.com/frameindex.htm

They have a good selection of carpet.

As for speakers you will need to make up some spacers to give you enough mounting depth. You might get by using the factory provided mounts, but they are just cheap plastic. I wound up needing a 5/8 and a 3/4 inch MDF spacer stacked on top of each other to give me enough depth for a Focal 165K2 mid.

Really? I fit my 165K2's in my doors w/o modification. Maybe its because I had Bose? It was a tight fit, but they went in okay.

2 spacers? Damn, I cut out one set from 3/4" LDF and thought that would do it, but guess not. These speaks are deeper than the focals even. Hmmm, that's not good

If you scrap the factory plastic mounting ring you need to make some spacers or else the windows will not go down all the way. I started with 5/8 but it did not give me enough clearance, so I mounted a 3/4 on top of it. Seemed to do the trick.

You could see if the 3/4 gives you enough clearance. Just try rolling down the window before you put the door back together.

2K1 Bose.

They are indeed. You can cut the clarions out of the bracket and mount new ones on it. That's the way I went anyway. Hope I can get the fronts worked out. Has anyone managed to get the speaker wire through the wire loom in the door? Couldn't get it off in the brief time I tried.

Getting the wire through the rears is a no brainer. The fronts suck. They have a bulk head connector that connects the door to the car. I have heard of a few work arounds for this, all of whick involve a drill. I actually pulled the connector out and found a spot on the connector that did not have any used pins and ran a drill through it. I then used some old fashioned zip wire to connect the driver to my x-over.

I have seen a couple of people put a second hole through the door and the car. If you really need to run a heavier gauge wire, this is the only way to go.
