Should I replace BOSE speakers, or HU?

I only have $100 to spend on the system. I can either get new speakers, or a new head unit. The HU has 200w, which with normal speakers, would be 2x as much as the bose. But my only big problem with the speakers is that they can't do treble and bass together almost at all. The bass vibrates too much, and the treble sounds nasty(like the singing in gurgling, when I have bass turned up too).
Could I just replace the speakers with some new ones that have two cones - one for treble and one for bass? Would it have a problem due to the different ohms, or would it sound the same, but without "froggyness"?
If I can't get an answer, I think it might be best to put in the new speakers, even at 4ohms(dunno what difference it will make). I'm eventually also gong to get the new HU, since it has 2x the wattage.
