XM Radio Antenna location

Has anyone placed the antenna inside the car? Perhaps on the rear deck or frontdash? Was the sound quality good? I don't want that thing on top of my car. Sorry if I sound b!+chy.

I had my Terk antenna on the rear deck. I found that the signal dropped out all the time out in the burbs of Boston, but was fine in the city (more repeaters around)...I now have it mounted on the trunk lid, which is much better but not perfect...although I have been told by installers that roof mounting would not improve the situation at all because when there are not any repeaters in the area, the signal will drop near tall buildings or trees. I like it on the trunk lid, and the spoiler hides it somewhat. There was no way I wanted that ugly thing on the roof.

mine is near the 3rd brake light. I'm in the south, I only had drop outs like in mall parking lots or stopped for more than 4 secs under overpasses.. but I think I would drop out there regardless. Glass does not impede XM signal. Obviously if you got at an angle to the roof of the car, if could block.. but I havent seen that happen and we have alot of hills here.
