I was about the get the Alpine Type-R, and its 150 per coil. But now i'm going to get the Power Mouse system from Bass Mechanic. 700 Watt Rms on 1 10" and 750 rms on a 12". Search for his name. He can also give you a great deal with amps.
I had 2 type R 12s in my trunk for about a week and was impressed with how they did. They are a very rigid sub, and hit pretty well for the price....I am not familiar with the eclipse subs you were talking about though so I couldn't compare...and having the same brand doesn't do affect anything but appearance....

http://www.rmscaraudio.com thats his website he designed his own system. Go to power mouse section. He can even customize your box to say certain words.
