metal/ silver DIN trimplate?

At the time of installation the stereo shop told me of a metal or silver plate that goes around the aftermarket head unit. They said that Circuit City was out of them, but that it would be on order. It has been 2 months, and i'm beginning to wonder if there is such a thing? Sorry about not having a better description or a picture. I figured this would be the place to find information, better than anywhere. The color of the metal is comparable to the plate around the automatic shifter console.

Are you talking about the actual trim piece that goes around the head unit. If so, the radio should have came with one. Most manufacturers include this, because most of the cars on the market don't have a "flush" mount look after an aftermarket unit is installed. The trim piece gives it a better fit look. I'm not sure what your installer did, but I think you may have been ripped off with this trim piece. Was the unit brand new?

mixxmax, I am talking about the same exact trim kit that Tony Fernandes has with his Eclipse CD5442. I got a black plastic trim kit...the unit was brand new, and they were implying that instead of going with the universal black plastic DIN trimplate with pocket, there was one made of silver.
