just hardwired my 4th gen

So now, our stable of Maximas (93, 97, and 2k) are all hardwired with Valentine1 radar detector. Sweet!
It woulda been a 5min job in my 97, but the datasheet on the12volt.com mislabeled the switched 12v...so I had to go hunting and figure out which wire was the real 12v switched. So it ended up taking 2hr.
I'm happy. Now I gotta figure out how to make the windshield holder suction cups stay on my tinted windshield (yes, all 3 max's have tinted windshields). I guess since my 4th gen's tint is only 3wks old, it doesn't stay on so well.

just curious. you can only get the V1 from their site, huh? and you're also from so cal. how effective has the V1 been for you? thanks!

You can also get them on ebay.
Pretty good. I leave it on the least sensitive (actually, sensitivity stays the same, but it filters the false ones). It's saved me 3x since I got it in June. I regularly commute between LA and SD...to tell you the truth, south of OC, it's pretty dead on the 5. OC is the worse. LA: you're better off using your eyes cuz they never use radar/laser on the freeways.
On the streets, it's pretty good too.
It's saved my bro numerous times since he got it 2 years ago (older software).

correct. got Solarguard full metallic titanium tint...43% light goes through, but it's not that dark at all when looking from the front. From the side, it has a reflexive property and looks great on my white max.

today's the first time i really got to test the effectiveness of the V1 with tinted windshield...effectiveness went down drastically. I gotta ask my bro about his 2 maximas.
