Question about Infinity Basslink...

I got rid of my 2 12 inch subs because I couldnt stand all the bass anymore, I was going to buy a single 12, but I've been looking at the Infinity Basslink...What kind of bass does this push out ?? I listen to mostly rap music, and I want something that is gonna give me nice clean bass that is deeper that normal speakers, but I dont want to be heard from 2 blocks away, or leave my car with a huge headache...Any advice or comments ??

well, just because you CAN be heard from 2 blocks away doesn't mean you have to turn it up that loud..

Re: Question about Infinity Basslink...

The basslink is incapable of really hard hitting bass. When I listen to music at the loudest comfortable level for me, outside the car, there appears to be minimal bass. I have it vertically positioned and corner loaded, and the bass extends not much below 40Hz where it appears to have a resonance. At 30Hz, bass output is minimal. To me, it's more like a deep woofer. On the plus side, the music seems more dynamic... probably from the high pass filter (from my head unit) removing the bass to the car's speakers.

well, my point was: why downgrade because your subs are "too loud" when there is a perfectly good volume control sitting right in front of you?

I've got a basslink in the trunk. It is a class D amp, but only pushes 200 watts through a single 10" It's better for tight punchy bass, than for the low frequency stuff. It sounds great inside the car, but not too very loud from outside. All in all, a great deal for $220 on EBay, and a relatively easy install process.
