Those who know about the Pioneer In-dash DVD player

I just bought the 7" Pioneer dvd player (avx-p7300dvd) with the 8000 brain. I was told that I will not be able to watch movies and whatnot while I am driving (something about the ebrake has to be up). Does anyone know how to bypass this so I will be able to watch movies while the car is in motion?? When I take it to a shop to install should they be able to do this, or they won't know what I'm talking about?

There are certain brands that market bypass switches for that but any reputable installer will fix it so it is not necessary to require more $$$ to buy the bypass...you can check EBay but it may be doable without...

Some install "shops" will protect themselves and not do it for liability reasons...much like the exhaust shops not doing y-pipes.

Mine is Clarion and it is fully functional, but I understand the reason why it is there...very distracting.

Combo,

Just take the wire that needs to be tapped to the Ebrake and ground it to the body.

Simple as that

YEP!!!That's all you need to do.

That is unless you are unlucky to own an alpine like me and then need to connect to two grounds, have one constantly grounded and the other pulse 2 times.

I thought if you install it yourself you can do whatever you want. Only big installers install the E-brake thing. They only do it because its the law. But just install it yourself and you will be fine.
