Had the Viper 550ESP Remote Start installed less than two months ago and everything worked great! Anyone who uses the remote start knows that you must put the key in the ignition and turn from 1 to 3 to deactivate the alarm and drive. Well, just this past weekend I noticed a strange 'clicking' sound from the engine when I turn the key from 1 to 2 (remote start function). If I start the car manually. I don't hear the clicking sound so it's most likely an issue related to the remote start.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with their remote start?

a "click" sound would most likely be a relay (completely normal). I hear a "click" sound in the engine bay when i turn on my headlights sometimes.

 

I know there's a click (relay) to trigger the ignition but this is from the enginebay when the motor is already running (almost like a quick grind)... unusual.

 

how ru did u find out what the clickin noise is...

 

ive got that same alarm, but ive never heard that sound...sorry and good luck...

I'm going to the installer tomorrow to have it checked out. He's the only guy who'll know what's wrong since he installed the remote start.. maybe it has something to do with timing mechanism
