component protection?

For those of you who have components, Do you guys use anything to protect those components in the two front doors?

I know that the max's (3rd gen) with the bose system have pods to protect the 4" speakers up front. Would just leaving them open be alright? I have just recently got components and I don't want anything to happen to them while there in the front doors (i.e. elements, water, dirt....).

u could put grilles over them which most components are supplied with. nothing should really affect them if they are open, unless someone kicks them. if u get dirt on the cone u can just suck it out with a vacuum

sorry, let me retype the question. Do they need some kind of inclosure inside the doors? Where the magnet and the wiring hook up is. I'm worried that water or what not get inside the door and on to the speaker and short circuit or something in that magnitude.

You could use a foam baffle to keep water out. Or build something that does the same thing. But getting a little damp should not hurt the speakers. They were built to go in a car. Therefore built to hold up in those conditions. Most of the aftermarket stuff holds up pretty well without any protection. But it does not hurt to make the extra effort.
