help with getting rid of bose amps

I recently installed a new HU and want to disable the amps on the factory bose speakers. Is there an easier way to do this than by disconnecting them all directly at the speakers? I was looking at the Haynes manual and thought that I might be able to cut the green/white wire coming from the audio amp relay under the console to get rid of all of them simultaneously. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if this would work? I know there is some kind of part that is supposed to do it but don't know anything about it. Any help on this is appreciated. BTW, I have a 96. Thanks for any help at all.
