Want to get some new audio equipment need some suggestions!
Ok here's my current setup, Boston acoustics 6.5 pro for the fronts, boston coaxail in the rear. 1 JL 10w6v2. Alpine mrv-f407 powering the mids. and Jl 500/1 for the sub. And alpine 7897 headunit.
What should I upgrade?
1. Get better components for the front and put the 6.5 pro in the rear?
2. Get another 10w6v2?(might need a new sub amp)
3. Get a better Headunit?
4. Get better 4ch amp?
I only have like 500-800 to spend by the way.

i thought the pro series are components,
anyways, get components for the front from boston, get the pro series,
the bass isnt enough? in that case, ur gonna need another speaker and another amp...more than $800 right there...

you really should get the components up front and then either add the JL sub or upgrade to 12". You shouldn't need another JL 500/1 amp it will run both subs just fine. I'm using Bazooka EL-1500 600/1 on two MTX Thunder 4000 12" in a sealed box and it pushes the subs very hard. I know that the JL would kill the Bazooka. You gotta remember when you lower the ohms on the speakers going to the amp you get more power from the amp.

The second cheapest improvement for the low end would probably be to sell the 10 inch sub and replace with a 12 or 15 inch. Even with the same power a larger sub will have more output. Especially if you optimize the enclosure for the power you have available.
The cheapest low frequency improvement would be to just change the sub box. Uness it is already optimized to reach Xmax with 500 watts or less.

Right! As long as the amp is stable down to the given impedance. Although as per JLs RIPS technology, that amp is supposed to put out 500W at any impedance (well between 1 to 4 ohms). RIPS does have it's drawbacks, but in the end it's a really good technology!
