Peal & Seal

Just wanted to post a quick review of Peal & Seal (Dynomat Alternative).

Yesterday my buddy and I did the trunk on his Accord. The stuff is only about 6 inches wide so there was more cutting involved than a larger sheet but the price is right ($14 for a 26' roll x 2 rolls for the trunk = $28 ). It took a few hours because of the cramped quarters but it turned out nice (and everything was covered by the factory panels).

Anyway, we turned on his system and immediately noticed a huge gain in the bass. To the point of where it was drowning out the mids and highs! Also, it seemed to hit tighter. I've never used Dynomat (nor would I due to the high cost) but the Peal & Seal seems to have done it's job!

We picked it up at Lowes Home Improvement Center (Home Depot didn't carry it). Next mission is going to be the doors on his ride and the rear deck of my Max!

Guys,

What is this product considered at Lowes? Insulation?
what section would you find it in? I hate going to these places because if you ask someone for something, they always say that this is not their area! I hate that! I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

That's where you'll find it. It's a product that is meant for roofing. Some people found it at Home Depot, but none of the ones I checked had it. We just had Lowes open up here by me...they did!

ps: Look for a small roll with a white and blue label. About 2 or 3 times the width of a roll of toilet paper. Oh, but don't use it for that

Ice Buster

You guys ever heard of Ice Buster? It is made by the same company that makes Peel & Seal (MFN Co.). Heard this is made form a fibergass mat alongside asphalt. Any thought on this product or has anyone ever used it?

Stay away from the liquid foam. I hear nothing but nightmares. Another thing to try is egg crates on your rear deck. Check this post:

I heard the same thing. I didn't do it in any place upsidedown yet, but this stuff is SUPER sticky. You can move it while it placed ona sheet metal, but once you press it down forget about it. I'm planning on doing my trunk lid so I'll let you know.

Oh, it also helps to heat it up with a heat gun first and clean the area with rubbing alcohol, then a wet cloth, then heat it up to dry it and get it warm.

The liquid foam was used on the support beam on my trunk lid. However you were right! That s.hit made quite a mess!!! I won't use it on anything else. Trying to sell a R/F Punch 12" sub for some Dynamat right now for my trunk.
