Ok...well i live in GA and i went to a store called Sound Sensations...they were great..they answered all my questions..I told one of the guys that i want to get an Aftermarket H/U (Alpine cda-7894) and he told me i would have to change EVERYTHING..i though that was weird b/c i though you could have an aftermarke H/U with your BOSE speakers but he said no that i have to replace the whole system cuz the ohms from the speakers will fry the H/U... are their any ppl out there that have an aftermarket H/U with BOSE sepakers and are you having any problems?...btw the guy used to have a 96 Maxima so i figured he might know what he is talking about..

SEARCH!!! This thread is only about 10-15 lines from the top. It def. can be done. The guy is probably just trying to get you to buy more stuff or else he doesn't know.

 

it may be possible to do, but is it worth it? In the long run any decent aftermarket will easily outperform the BOSE speakers. Even if it is possible to do, I would go ahead and change them anyways!
