Screens in a Max.

Hey,

Im lookin to buy a max soon and when i buy it within thje same year i want to put some screens or a screen in it, i was thinking of replacing the stock stereo area with a screen/dvd player. But no foldout screen just one that site there and looks stock.

Does anyone have any pics of this so i could get a feel of what it would look like?

Thanks

Welcome to the org...and you can find lots of examples on people's home pages but the easiest is to search the Car Domain websites for Maxiam's...the search feature allows for spl or sql ratings and many members here have their in-dash screens on their sites...

also check the GD forum for the screens for sale and the people that post saying they have thiers done...in audio/video forum.

Check out my install:

The screen in the middle is the stock Navigation unit.

The real treat is the Active matrix screens I retro-fitted into the sunvisors.

The Max has plenty of room for video screens!

I liked both setups, but i like CKNY's because its almost hidden, that is exactly what i want to do, thanks for the play by play. How long did it take you to do??

Do you think it would be easy to just put a dvd player attached to it, like the same setup but instaed of a radio/cd a dvd/cd/radio player and have it set up the same way???

thanks guys keep em coming!!

Dumb question, where is your climate control, or is it in the nav?

Half are on the right-hand side of the screen... the other half are "in" the screen - it's a touchscreen.

Anything can be done if you put your mind to it. Max looked beautiful once the screens were in there.

Anyone know a LCD screen manufacturer that makes a DIN size flip out screen without a receiver? I just want the DIN size flip out screen, not the receiver with it. Any help would be appreciated.

Well most of the units come that way, such as the Pioneer 7000CD or 7300DVD, it is a standalone unit, not a powered receiver. It has to be controlled by something else such as a master control unit. You can use it by itself or have it in your car system as a secondary unit and have another headunit that powers the speakers.

All the other flip screens are the cheap brands like Farenheit and the other crappy brands.

I like this one too, except i am not a fan of the woodgrain.

All the other ones are very sweet but i am more of a low key guy and just want one in the front that is not to obvious, but still not a flip out, i find they always end up blocking something.
