is Bass boost important?
is Bass boost important?
I am looking for an amp and the US acoustic USX 2080 does not have bass boost and the USX 2100 does. There is a $40 price difference and only 20 watt difference. I am more into sound quality and the occasional loudness when I want it. I am thinking of using the amp with an adire shiva 12" sub. Is it a good combo? and do I need the bassboost? Any other sub suggestions out there?

It is impossible to answer this question with a simple yes or no. In an ideal install it would not be needed. But few installs are ideal and most who want a sub want to occasionally be able to really crank up the low end. But many of the headunits sold today have a seperate sub woofer output with level control.
I only have a stock non-bose headunit. Can't I just crank up the sub volume from the amp and not have bass boost?

Don't use the amp to adjust the subs volume! If your that concerned about it, I suggest you go and get a new head unit first!
My question was if I should get an amp with or without bass boost? Thanks

LOL! Why don't you just give me your sub in that case? At least on of us will get to enjoy it for what it's supposed to sound like!
