Adding to Existing Stereo

I always see questions about the BOSE system, Here's a new one? I have a week old 2001 SE. It has the system below the bose. I alreay have a Pioneer 12 disk chgr...I know about the problems but I intend to beat it. Here's my question(s) 1. Are the head units exactly the same as the BOSE System? 2. How do I add my sub tube to the existing system. There is a jack on the back of the radio that looks like it is for the Sub...can I use it for an aftermarket? Any help you can give this new owner would be great.

I have the "premium" system as well. I paid to have it installed, but what the guy did was take the high outputs from the receiver (I believe he said it was a clarion deck-not bad)and ran them to an eclipse amp. I am running a pair of focal component speakers up front off the amp, and also 1 12" eclipse sub in the trunk. The back speakers are focal coaxes running off of the receiver. I think the guy installing it just spliced the rear wires to run it to the amp and the speakers. Next up is a new receiver, but that's not urgent cause it sounds pretty good already. If you push too much air in the trunk the rear deck will rattle, so be ready to stick some foam between the rear windshield and the rear deck.
