do I keep the subwoofer from overtaking the mids and highs at low volumes? The mids and highs does very well at higher volumes, but when I turn down the volume, I have to turn the equalizer down on the bass to keep it from overtaking the rest of the speakers. What can I do to correct the problem? Any advice will be appreciated and tried out.

If your amp has the capability of a remote bass boost ****, get it. Some songs are very bass heavy, others aren't. I've got mine mounted in a free space on the left of the steering wheel. It works great because I can just turn the **** depending on the song that's playing.

Also, do you have the mids & highs amped as well? If your pushing a lot more wattage to the sub, that's your problem. The system would be unbalanced.

Not sure if this could help, but you can also get a HU with programmable low\mid\high cut-offs, and set the bass cutoff to something between 80-120 Hz.
