Need help with sub and Bose! sorry for triple post!

Sorry about this triple post of nothing, what I was trying to say is that I have searched but found nothing! I am trying to hook up a sub with a JBL 300.1 amp with speaker level inputs. It also claims to not need a remote wire as it senses current in the speaker level to turn on. Can anyone help me add this to a Bose system? Do I need an adapter for speaker level? Where/how do I tap in? Thanks!

Long story short:

Take the covers off of the rear Bose speakers. Tap the audio signal AFTER the Bose amps and use that for your speaker signal. Just to be safe on the turn-on thing, tap off of the Bose turn-on signal and use it to switch on your amp. I did this w/ a RF amp. Do a search in the last 3 months for posts by me in this forum with the keyword "bose"- it will tell you all about my successes and failures. There are also wiring color codes on here if you search.

For my setup I put a switch in the center console running off the cigarette lighter, for the remote turn on. works out good cause when you turn off the car power to the cigarette lighter turns off also. I put the switch in there for if i wanted to turn off the amp (and sub) while driving.

But for the setup with no remote turn on phenryiv1 is right, just take the signal from after the amp on the rear speakers.

The way mine is set up, the amp will be on when the stereo is on, and ONLY when the stereo is on. No wasted power or threat of a problem with an overheatign amp, unless you are actually playing it for long periods of time.

OK, I understand I am to tap into the speaker after the amp, however, what does tap into it mean? Do i simply splice off speaker wire or is there some adapter or something that I need?

You can use regular wire-to-wire splices, or you can use t-splices. I would use regular wire-to-wire.

Great site, only question is you use a PAC. Anyone have instructions specifically for speaker level?

Not really sure what you are asking. Are you asking for the wire color codes to do a splice-in job?

I found out an adapter was needed.
