Please let me know if this is good.

I have a 97 SE with non-bose system. I've already replace my head unit with a pioneer DEH-P6400
I now want to replace my speakers with something better since the stock ones suck. I want to buy a pair of Alpine SPR-176A
for the front speakers and for the rear i want the Alpine SPR-174A
Do you guys think this is a good combination to replace my stock speakers? Will these speakers fit on my 97 SE? they say that my max uses 6 3/4 and those are 6 1/2. Also Do you think that if I replace them with those will I need an AMP? and my last question is. Have any of you herd these speakers before, are they worth it? please let me know.

Yeah, that is a pretty good start. Componets up front, two ways in the rear deck. Bump up to a Pioneer 7400 or a better headunit later if you can. Are you going to run a sub too?

The Pioneer 7400MP has dual preouts and a subwoofer preout. That means until you decide to get a sub later, you can use the rear deck as a sub by using the HPF/LPF on the 7400s headunit.

Just a little info for ya...........
