Double Din Radio

Is it possible to make the double din radio into a single din and like below that sorta like a cubby hole? I think that I saw maximas with a single din and the cubby hole beneath, is it possible to do that on a 99 Maxima SE? Also, how much do you think it would cost if possible

Thanks

Stock double dins can be unbolted from mounting points in the stereo rack (behind black plastic facing) and you can mount stock pocket and single din deck all where you want (upper or lower position)

where do you get the stock pocket? I'm just a bit confused. I can just get something to put under the single din deck from like walmart? I really don't like those single-double din adapter things.

Okay for example...

my 99 GXE came with the Clarion/Nissan single din deck tuner and cassette.
below that was the fold down pocket
below that was a open faced pocket

The mounting holes are standard and the items can be switched around any combination you want...

On mine currently I am using the top two spaces for the screen and DVD player(spacer in between units for evenness and fit...

the bottom one (the open faced pocket) holds the controller for the DSP.

check my webpage on page two for pictures and let me know if you have more you think I can help with...the pockets are common and can be found here or on EBay all the time...
