Help with indash TV hook up?

I have it all setup except for power to the 7" monitor i have. My question is does it need to be grounded? It only comes with ONE 12V wire that connects to the back of the monitor, BUT the wire splits into to sides one is red an one is black. Do i ground the black and power the red or just power both? The instructions say NOTHING about grounding
