CD player problems

I have a 1996 stock CD player in my Maxima and I keep getting ERR on the digital readout and the player wont work. Any ideas?

My passenger door is real stiff too any ideas to loosen it up?

My Max has 137,000 now. I got it with 82,000 and have not had ONE problem with it. Im shooting for 300,000!

Get a CD Cleaner and shove the disk in. It'll clean the lens.

You probably have a lot of dust on the lens, and it needs to be cleaned off.

You probably have a BOSE headunit. You may be able to put off the certain death of your head unit with a lens cleaner. But its going to die soon. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next month. But it's going. It's a common problem with BOSE head units that have been used with burned CDs. You might want to look in the parts for sale section for another head unit. I bought one from a fellow .org member for 85 dollars shipped.

Yeah I posted a thread about my CD Player but it didn't get much attention, so I'll tag along this one. Is my Bose Head Unit multi-disk? I have the "CD Changer" button on my head unit, but I don't have a CD-Changer in the trunk. Is it in dash or what? I have a 98 SE. Can anyone help before I start jamming CD's into the dash?

No wonder you did not get a good response. You could have read your manual. It is a single disc stereo with a CD Changer controller built in. So, you can add a changer in the trunk (OEM Clarion one fromthe dealer obviously) and the stereo will control it.

Uhhh... you know they have consumer products out there too? Ever hear of WD-40? How about Lithium Grease (also called "White Grease" and comes in a spray can)? Li Grease is the reccommended product for door hinges, it also doesn't attract bugs in the summer trying to consume your car.

when i first bought my max in jan of 2002, it would do the same thing every time i put in a cd.. i didnt notice until i drove it home but i took it back the next day and they had to take the whole unit out and send it to the factory to "refurbish" it, whatever the hell that means.. didnt cost me nothin but it might cost u, so ur probably better off sayin ur farewells and get a new one..
