Help me fix my dash!! Please!

I have a big problem. I put a new headunit in my 96 Max this weekend, but I had trouble during the reinstall. I can not get the piece with the clock and hazard switches to snap back in. The little clips on the bottom will not connect with the top of the a/c control unit.

Are there any secret tips on getting this to snap back on? The clips kind of turn up and I can't get them to start on the holes made into the top of the a/c unit. Everything I've found so far just says to "snap it back on" but I tried for over 1/2 hour and still can't get it. I'm afraid I'll break something so I stopped.

Please help me, cause right now I'm driving with like a 1/4" gap between the a/c control unit and the clock/vent unit.

Thanks,
Jamie

Re: Help me fix my dash!! Please!

I had a similar problem last week when I was installing my Kenwood KDC-x859 headunit in. I noticed that the chunk of wires that feeds the hazard lights, clock, and rear defroster were getting in the way, so I put the vent cluster in as close as I could, shoved the wires down through the hole as much as possible, and was able to put the A/C vent cluster back in with no probs.

Hope that helps.

Andrew

I guess I'll check that then. I know something must be wrong.

Well that wasn't it. I have one more idea to try tomorrow. After that I don't know what I'm going to do.
