speed sensor error - check engine light
Hi! Hoping someone can help here. The check engine light is on, and the error codes point to a fault in the speed sensor ('97 SE). Local dealership says that I can get a speed sensor for $28, but they also say that the speedometer must be replaced as well. Total cost of $350.
I don't understand why, and they're not the most reputable dealership around. My questions: Is this a common problem? What is involved in replacing the speed sensor? Is there truly a problem with the speedometer as well? Thanks for any input!:
