Quick question about Bose replacement
Hi, I just got a 95 GLE and it doesnt wanna play cds.. Ive had a 90 GXE before this 95 so I know if cleaning it doesnt work(which im gonna try in the morning) then I have to trash the bose system. My question is, im no audio expert so I just want to replace the head unit and the 4 speakers. I dont think I want to put a sub in, I just want good all around sound out of the 4 speakers. I want to get this head unit:
JVC KD-S890 AM/FM/CD/MP3 PLAYER W/REMOTE
Features:
50W x 4 channels maximum power
Detachable face
Attractive multi-color display
CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3 compatible
Power switch standby illumination
COMPU play
Rotary encoder
HS-II tuner
Custom EQ (cEQ)- Offers six preset tone settings to get your tunes sounding perfect — choose from "Rock," "Classic," "Pops," "Hip Hop," "Jazz," and "User" (user definable).
18 FM/6 AM presets
Seek tuning
Plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs
Direct track access (tracks 1-12)
Loudness
Preamp outputs (2V, 2 pair)
Advanced Sound Control Memory
Clock
Key Chain type wireless remote
1-bit DAC with 24-bit resolution
CD frequency response 5-20,000 Hz
CD signal-to-noise ratio 98 dB
FM sensitivity 11.3 dBf
Ok my question is, what kind of speakers should I be looking for that will sound good with this unit. I used to get distortion like sounds with my old sony headunit/blaupunkt speakres in my 90 GXE when I tried to turn the volume up too loud. Is there any way I can match speakers up with this unit where they wont sound so distorted the higher I try the volume? Im not looking to blast my stereo so the whole neighborhood can hear it but I would like it to just sound nice, clean, whatever if I wanted to turn it up a little. Im trying to avoid buying a sub/amp and all that other crap but if I have to I guess I will. Im on a tight budget here
