Now what would you recommend for both spl and sq minus the heavy weight?

You are joking right? High motor strength is how you get SPL. High quality motor build up, motor strength and suspension is how you get SQ. You can't have either with the light weight requirement. Even if you use neodymium for the magnet, it'll be heavy.

That being said the W7 might be the best for both SQ and SPL combined on a cost no object budget. But the enclosure size is quite a bit larger than another sub with very good SQ and slightly higher efficiency. That sub being the Adire Audio Brahma. But honestly decide if you want SQ or SPL. Because many who choose SQ later find out that is not what they wanted. Also decide what your budget is.
