If this is just temporary, then you really don't need to do plexi, or neons or any of that other stuff. It would be much cheaper for you to just buy a pre-made box and just have him install everything. If you do want a custom box though, one made out of regular 23/32" MDF shouldn't cost you more than $250, if that.

You're going to do a custom box for a car that you are going to trade in a few months?? Save yourself the money and just buy a $60 pre-made box for temporary. Though if I was you, I'd save the time and money and not install anything, just wait for the Z.

I'm with these guys. You can get a decent 3/4" MDF dual sub box for about $60. You're getting raped on the custom box man.

I went to a local installer a while back to ask about having a power wedge style box built out of 3/4" MDF. He quoted me $150. I asked if it was going to "flush mounted" in the trunk and have an amp rack and all and he said no..just a basic box. I nearly laughed in his face and walked out.

A few weeks later, with the help of eBay, I had the perfect box to my door (brand new) for $33 shipped.
