You don't necessarily need a 2 ch amp. Which model 10's are they, are they dual or single voice coils, and what ohm do they run at? Do you want to run them at there fun potential or just for good sound at a moderate level?

If you have a 4ohm load at the end... you need 2channel 500Wrms bridge output amp.

If you have 2ohm load at the end... you need a mono amp that will do 500Wrms.

thats all

you do not NEED a 500Wrms amp, but that how you'll get the most out of it. If you put a couple hundred into each sub they'll move pretty good, just not as much

what is the ohm rating on your subs??? I'm going to assume 4ohms. If so, you can get by with a 500x2 amp(or less). Your speakers rating is the most it should have put into it. If they are 500Wrms each, I would put at least 300x2(rms) into it. Always go by RMS ratings.

OK....two 4ohm subs can be set up three ways.

1. parrallel, 1000Wrms total at 2 ohms into one channel

2. series, 1000Wrms total at 8 ohms into one channel

3. stereo(2-channel), 500Wrms at 4ohms into each channel

amp suggestions:

1. a mono amp that handles a 2ohm load with no more than 1000Wrms

2. a mono amp that only handles a 4ohm load with no more 1000Wx1

3. a 2-channel amp that handles up to 500x2(rms) at a 4ohm load

I would go with options 1 or 3 before going with option 2. option 2 is going to loose power due to the impedence mismatch.(8ohm load on a 4 ohm amp).

like i said, you don't have to get an amp that powerful. You could go with less powerful, but you won't get the most that those subs can do. If you want to go all out, this amp will pound those subs! If your budget is tight, you can do like a Boss or a Soundstorm amp for under $200. I've used both brand in "less expensive" systems and they do a good job for the price. You could also try something less powerful if you want the name and not the price. At the least, I would put a good 150-200Wrms into each sub. good luck

"bridged" means that you are taking a 2-channel amp and making it one channel(mono), or a 4-channel amp and making it 2-channels. Check out my last post. That kicker for $265 is a sweet amp. i know it's over your budget though

most amps are 4ohm in bridged mode, unless stated. for example, this amp will give you 400x2 at 4ohms....

I think it's worth the $265, but I don't know what you are comparing it to. If you look around, you may find a similar amp that's like 300x2 for closer to $200. If your subs handle 500Wrms each, I would get something that will at least give them a good 200 each. That's just my opinion.

I would recommend going with the JBL BP600.1 or BP1200.1. I have the BP300.1 and I am very impressed. You can find the 600.1 on ebay for less than $200 shipped and the 1200.1 for a little more.

don't know much about Power Acoustik amps, but I did see this Boss amp for about the same price, and it has better specs.

Boss is ok. I've bought and installed a few for friends. For the price, you can't beat them. I had one Boss amp that I bought on ebay for $40 new. I hooked it up to my JLs and it hit them harder than my Kenwood PS200(which I paid $280 for new). As far as this seller goes, I have dealt w/ him before. I bid on a Boss amp that he was selling. After the auction ended, he found out that the amp he sold me was a refurb. Instead of sending it, he offered me a more powerful(and more expensive) Soundstorm amp in it's place. Although it was annoying to find this out, he was very professional about it. My friend that has the soundstorm amp is very happy with it. You may want to check them out too. They are in the same price range.

If you get a BOSS, I want your feedback. I've bought, sold, and installed 5 or 6 of them and so far everyone likes them. They used to have some pretty bad stuff, but they got much much better over the last 2 or 3 years.
